Behavioral Interview Mode

How loqra detects behavioral questions and surfaces STAR framework prompts automatically.

What Is Behavioral Mode?

Behavioral Mode activates automatically when loqra detects a behavioral interview question. It surfaces a STAR framework prompt card and, if you have saved stories, shows relevant matches from your story bank.

How Detection Works

loqra identifies behavioral questions based on opening phrases and intent patterns:

  • "Tell me about a time when..."
  • "Give me an example of..."
  • "Describe a situation where..."
  • "How have you handled..."
  • "Walk me through a time..."

Detection happens within 1–2 seconds of the question being completed.

The STAR Prompt Card

When Behavioral Mode activates, the overlay shows:

S — Situation Set the context briefly. 1–2 sentences maximum.

T — Task Your specific responsibility in that situation.

A — Action What you personally did. Use "I", not "we". This is the longest section.

R — Result The measurable outcome. Quantify where possible.

Story Bank

The Story Bank lets you save STAR stories in advance and have loqra surface them during live interviews.

Adding a Story

  1. Go to Dashboard → Story Bank
  2. Click New Story
  3. Fill in the four STAR sections
  4. Tag the story with relevant themes: conflict, failure, leadership, impact, ambiguity, learning

During an Interview

When a behavioral question is detected, loqra checks your story bank for matching themes and shows the most relevant story title as a reminder. The full story is one click away.

Tips

  • Prepare 8–10 stories covering different themes before your interview
  • Tag stories broadly — a story about a difficult project can cover leadership, conflict, and impact
  • Practice telling each story in under 3 minutes out loud before the interview
